MAINTENANCE OPERATOR WANTED: The Village of Clearwater is seeking a full-time maintenance/water and wastewater operator. Applicant must hold or be willing to obtain a Grade IV Water Operators Certificate and a Class I Wastewater License with the State of Nebraska; hold or be willing to obtain, at minimum, a Class B State of Nebraska CDL driver’s license; have the ability to operate large equipment and vehicles; read and interpret gauges, understand electrical and mechanical equipment used in the regular operations of water and wastewater systems; make minor repairs to water and wastewater systems; ability to maintain and make minor repairs to vehicles and equipment; ability to supervise others, withstand extreme weather conditions, distinguish colors, lift up to 75 pounds, crawl, climb, bend, stoop, reach and work in confined spaces and at extended heights. Applicant should reside or be willing to relocate within five miles of Clearwater village limits. Duties will include, but are not limited to: street maintenance, including patching and snow removal; maintenance, upkeep, testing and recordkeeping of water, wastewater and backflow systems; mowing and weed eating for all village properties; maintain park and playground, including trash removal; maintain tree dump and ensure only authorized items are being dumped; animal control; and other responsibilities as required or requested by supervisors. The Nebraska Rural Water Association, of Wahoo, Nebraska is hiring a full-time Circuit Rider.

The Nebraska Rural Water Association (NeRWA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening rural water and wastewater systems across the state. From our headquarters in Wahoo, we provide training, technical assistance, and advocacy to ensure safe, sustainable water for Nebraska’s communities.

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Circuit Rider to join our team full‑time. This role provides direct technical assistance to rural and small community water systems across Nebraska. The ideal candidate enjoys hands‑on fieldwork, problem‑solving, and supporting operators and communities in maintaining safe, reliable drinking water.

Key responsibilities: Provide on‑site technical assistance to public water systems; assist with regulatory compliance, system troubleshooting, and operational guidance; support communities with leak detection, line locating, and system evaluations; deliver training and educational outreach as needed; travel throughout Nebraska to serve member systems.

Qualifications: Experience in water system operations, maintenance, or management preferred; strong problem‑solving and communication skills; ability to travel within Nebraska regularly and outside of Nebraska twice per year for National Rural Water Association in-service; commitment to rural community service and environmental health

Position: Assistant Farm Research and Ranch Manager

We are a family-owned ranch operation specializing in beef cattle, hay production and farming, with an emphasis on plant and hybrid research, located in the Elkhorn River valley halfway between Clearwater and Ewing, Neb. We are seeking a reliable, hard-working, and motivated individual to join our team as a Farm/Ranch assistant manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a passion for agriculture, and be willing to assist with all aspects of daily farm and ranch operations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Feeding and caring for livestock, including monitoring health and assisting with calving.
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, balers, and feed wagons.
  • Assisting with planting, growing, and harvesting crops.
  • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of corn, popcorn and soybean research plots, including planting, pollinating, and harvesting.
  • Accurately collect and record agronomic data, such as stand counts, plant and ear height, and disease ratings.
  • Performing daily maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, shops, and yards.
  • Fencing and general upkeep of the ranch.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include irrigation and livestock management.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
  • Experience with operating farm equipment and machinery. 
  • Experience with animal husbandry and handling. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs and stand, kneel, or sit for extended periods. 
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
